Stone beds?

We're planning to go to Shimoda next weekend and will spend Friday night in a Japanese hotel. The hotel belongs to the brother of my Japanese teacher. So, they were really wonderfully helpful on the telephone, arranged for someone English for me to speak to, etc

One little bell rang quite clearly in my mind when he said "Four stone beds. Yes?"
Me trying to sound NOT shocked or rude: "Stone beds will be fine."

So, I haven't mentioned to Michael yet that part of the deal is that we sleep on Japanese stone beds.

Maybe we shall return as monks.
